Here are just some of the LP shelter pups we have helped:
Pocahontas
This little beagle girl was found injured on the side of the road and a good samaritan notified the shelter. We saw their plea to help this girl and immediately called and met them at Dodge City Animal Hospital. According to Dr Scott, it is possible that she was struck by 2 cars, and suffered significant damage to her back end and leg. She had a successful surgery and is expected to make a great recovery.
In honor of her braveness we named her Pocahontas. The same wonderful lady who discovered Poco on the road that night became her foster mom and is showering her with love for the next month or so during her recovery. She will then be ready for adoption.
Update on Poco- Her foster mom and dad fell in love, so this pup is home forever! Her new name is Anna Belle and she has made a great recovery from her accident. Thank yo to all who donated to the vet costs to save this pooch
Artemis
This little girl was the runt of her litter and had an injured eye. It was surgically removed and she has been adopted!
Copper
This young guy was hit by a car and we funded a $1700 surgery to save his leg. He made a full recovery and was adopted.
Fluke
Fluke was also hit by a car, but the vet was not able to save his leg. He is doing great as a tri-pawed pup and has been adopted!
Arizona
Az (as we like to call her) was suffering with a pretty bad case of dmeodex when we pulled her from the stressful shelter environment so she could recover in a calm foster home. She has since been adopted. We have pulled several other demodex suffering dogs from the shelter and all have made great recoveries, most are enjoying life in their forever homes!
Tressa
Tressa was picked up by the LP animal control unable to stand at all. We thought the worse for this girl but she proved us all wrong. Has mad an amazing recovery, is being treated for heart worms and is the princess at her forever home!
Frostie/ Little Man/ Franklin
The pup with many names is one heck of a fighter. Found in a ditch during a bad freeze with 2 broken front legs and actual ice on his ears this dog is a champion! He has won over so many hearts including those of his forever family!
